Staff Accountant
To help support our future growth as an agency, we are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team based in our NYC office.

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support accounting operations across multiple entities within a communications agency environment. This role requires someone who can operate with a high level of accuracy, organization, and ownership, particularly in situations where processes may not always be fully defined. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to track and close tasks independently, while communicating clearly with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting
• Maintain cashbook and perform bank reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Record transactions accurately in NetSuite (or similar ERP)
Invoicing & Revenue
• Prepare and issue client invoices, including expense recharges
• Build detailed supporting schedules for all invoices
• Ensure full audit trail and documentation for all billed amounts
Intercompany & Project Accounting
• Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Work with internal teams to ensure proper cost allocation and tracking
• Maintain and update internal trackers (expenses, project costs, etc.)
Month-End Close
• Support month-end close activities
• Prepare account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure all items are tracked and completed on time
Communication & Follow-up
• Manage accounting-related communications with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Follow up on outstanding items proactively
• Escalate issues when needed to ensure deadlines are met
Key Attributes
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–4 years of accounting experience (agency or multi-entity a plus)
• Experience with AP/AR, reconciliations, and invoicing
• Familiarity with NetSuite preferred
• Strong Excel skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through to completion
• Clear and consistent communication
• Maintain organized documentation and audit trails
• Proactive in identifying and resolving issues
